7.30pm – Cuban Rueda workshop- Improvers level £4 or Combo with social £7 (class not suitable for beginners to Salsa or rueda) This workshop is for those who already know the basic salsa rueda concept and already know a number of beginners level cuban salsa moves, including sombrero & setenta.
8.30-midnight – latin music for dancing (Salsa, bachata & a little merengue/kizomba) – Social £5
Children can also attend this event ( £3) but need to be well supervised on and around the dance floor area to avoid any accidents and avoid the bar area.

3 week Cross body salsa to Cuban rueda conversion course

 3 week Cross body salsa to Cuban Rueda conversion course starting on Tuesday 21st May at 8.15pm at the Deaf hub – £4 per class.   This short course is for anyone who dances at least at improver level Cross body style salsa (or cuban/ rueda) (this is usually around 6 months cross body style or other salsa experience). Not suitable for beginners.
The conversion 3 week course will provide the necessary skills to convert to Cuban salsa technique and Rueda moves to allow people to join the Deaf Hub Improver/ Intermediate Cuban Rueda class ( at 8.15p on tuesdays ) after the 3 week course, if attended in full.
The classes are also suitable for individuals who attend other Cuban dance/ rueda classes as there may be some differences in move names / sequences so the course will allow you to learn enough to join the tuesday Rueda group.   Any queries to LQsalsadundee@gmail.com.

Latin Quarter presents Cuban Fever latin party 
Friday 23th November 7.30- 12 pm at the Black Watch Club
20 Arthurstone Terrace, Dundee DD4 6RS

Tickets are £7 (£5 students with card) from classes or pay on the door. 
Come and feel the spirit of Cuba with Yamil Cuedo Ferrera, former Cuban dancer from Ballet Folklorico Cutumba dance company, Santiago de Cuba.  Evening starts at 7.30pm with a warm up taster Casino de Rueda (Cuban wheel dance), Yamil will be performing later in the night and get us all up for fun line ups.
Please pass the word.  Anyone welcome, no partner necessary.
All money raised goes to the Azul wasi project in Peru.
The night will have a Cuban feel but we’ll be playing a mix of music (cross body and Cuban salsa, bachata with a few Son etc).

Cuban dance Masterclasses with Yamil Cuedo Ferrera

Come and feel the spirit of Cuba with the energetic Yamil Cuedo Ferrera, former Cuban dancer from Ballet Folklorico Cutumba dance company, Santiago de Cuba.

Classes will be 50 minutes long each, see pass prices below, available from LQ Deaf Hub tuesday dance classes this tuesday only or at the 23rd November Cuban fever event.
On saturday 24th, the venue will be open from 11.45am, please come 10 minutes before classes start to register if possible especially if still need to pay for classes. The first 3 classes are for dancers with improver level (or above) Cuban salsa dance experience ( these 3 classes are not for beginners).
The last class at 3pm, Rumba Guaguanco, will be suitable for beginners and dancers with some cuban or cross body salsa experience.

Please note :
Bring your own soft drinks to hydrate for the classes, as no bar. No alcohol allowed in the room. Also for Rumba class, ladies bring a scarf and men a hankerchief if possible.

Classes
12 noon- Cuban Improvers Partnerwork class
1pm – Cuban Intermediate Partnerwork class
2pm – Cuban Rueda de Casino (Improvers/ intermediate level)
3pm – Rumba Guaguanco – class open to anyone including beginners. I’ll bring some rumba skirts, but don’t have enough for everyone. We will learn the basic Rumba steps, a short routine then see how you can add this into Salsa dancing.
Advance class prices : 1 class – £8, 2 classes- £14, 3 classes -£18, All 4 – £20

On day prices : 
Rumba Guaguanco class – £6
Cuban partner work or Rueda masterclasses – 1 class £10, 2 classes £18, 3 classes £23, all 4 – £25.

New block of continuing beginners Cuban Rueda Salsa classes- starts June 25th

Continuing the beginners Rueda class for those who signed up for the last block and anyone else who has the basic Rueda moves up to setenta.  If you’d like to join & haven’t done a Beginners Cuban style salsa class with Latin Quarter in Dundee please email sarahbrox@gmail.com to check level before joining.  6 week block – £20, or £4 per class.  Tuesdays 6.30pm at the Deaf Hub, see class page for directions.

Last week to join class, this Tuesday, folks if you came to the beginners block before Easter, 7 week block £22 pass or £4 per class.  At the Deaf Hub, suitable for all those who have completed a 10 week beginners Cuban salsa class with Latin Quarter before (please email sarahbrox@gmail.com to check level first if done classes elsewhere) and want to progress their skills in either partner dancing or learn the Cuban Rueda leading to joining the higher level class after this block.
