Latin Quarter LIVE Band Night – 23rd Anniversary – 2nd ED –

This charity dance is a live band and DJ music (salsa, bachata, kizomba) to raise money for Azul Wasi children’s home in Oropesa, Peru. The money raised at the event goes via UK based charity Peace Child International.
The 10 piece Salsa band Orquesta Boreal delivers an electrifying performance with infectious rhythms and salsa beats. With their authentic sound and dynamic musicianship, they transport audiences to the heart of Latin America, evoking the passion and energy of salsa music. Led by captivating vocalist and backed by skilled instrumentalists, the band’s seamless fusion of traditional salsa with contemporary flair creates an irresistible groove that keeps crowds moving. Whether you’re a seasoned salsa enthusiast or a newcomer to Latin rhythms, Orquesta Boreal guarantees a unforgettable musical experience.
Tickets : £20 advance online ticket, £25 on the door (CASH ONLY if any tickets left). This is an ADULT only event.

There will be an optional donation facility when you purchase tickets online if you would like to contribute to the Azul Wasi children’s home.
Events details : Doors open at 6.45pm, event starts at 7pm with a taster beginners salsa class and then we party until midnight with dancing and animations (line ups), the band will play 2 sets, starting at 7.30pm. DJ Sarita will also be playing bachata, salsa & kizomba. The venue has a large dance floor and a licensed bar. There will be a pre drawn fund raising raffle for Azul Wasi in the break.
The night is another celebration of 23 years of the Azul Wasi (formerly Blooming Colibri) homes in Peru and Latin Quarter fund raising classes & events. Come and spice up your life ! and help raise money for Azul Wasi at the same time.

LEVEL 2 Latin Quarter BOOTCAMP TUES 11th August @ the Deaf Hub. FAST TRACK your dance journey ! After a 2nd bootcamp you should be ready to hit the dance floor at socials !
open to those who attended the first salsa bootcamp and to anyone who ha the basic salsa steps already or to improvers who want to refresh skills. LEVEL 2 salsa bootcamp is NOT for total beginners, its for those who have already done the basic steps and turns.
in level 2 salsa we will continue from the first bootcamp and learn how to lead / follow in more foundation steps, turns and sequences.

Around the world at latin socials both salsa & bachata music is often played so it’s good to learn the basics of both.

Bachata originates from the Dominican Republic, there are different styles of Bachata dance, such as, traditional, sensual, moderna etc. We will be combining basic moderna turn patterns and a few other elements in our Bachata fusion bootcamp. In both bootcamps we will learn the essential footwork, basic turn patterns, the rhythm and a few moves.
Salsa and Bachata are partner dances but you don’t need a partner to attend, we will usually change partners during the class. However if you come with a partner and don’t want to change partners this can also be accommodated. Dancing is fun and great for your brain. It can improve confidence , rhythm & co ordination. THIS tuesday in the breaks between Latin Quarter Deaf Hub classes Weronika will be in the cafe area @ The Deaf Hub doing a thermomix demo and making berry ice creams for sale for Azul Wasi, £1.50 each ( or more if you want to donate). Please come & support it even if you aren’t in classes pop along & try one. Thermomix are very popular in Europe apparently, they make wonderful cakes too and many more things.
The ice creams will be available 7pm to 7.25ish pm & 8pm to 8.30pm ish, please come early for classes to try one folks.

Next Tuesday are the last classes in this block of Latin Quarter weekly classes before the summer break. We have a treat with Weronika coming to do a thermomix ice cream demo in the cafe area around class change over times, between 7 and 7. 25 ish and 8 to 8.30ish, so please come a bit earlier for classes to support if you can . Also anyone else is welcome to pop down for an ice cream even if you arent in the tuesday classes. Berry ice creams are £1.50 or more if you want to to make a donation for Azul Wasi.
