BIG THANKS to everyone who came & helped out last night at the Black watch club, we raised £329 for Azul Wasi. With special thanks to Patrick & Rosa for helping on the door,  Vanessa for helping with the Bachata class and also to those who donated raffle prizes.

Improvers Bachata(partnerwork) -usual class – 6.30pm ( instead of 6.15pm) – £5
Rueda de Bachata workshop – 7.15-8.15pm- this is our first time trying this, it’s bachata in a circle where you change partners. Should be fun ! ( you need some bachata basic experience for this workshop- not suitable for beginners)- £5

Social dancing ( salsa, bachata (& a little kizomba on request)) – £3,
8.15-10.30pm, pay on door.

Combo entry – Bachata rueda class & social £6.

All money raised for Azul Wasi project in Peru as usual.
Will be a bar and a raffle during the social, prizes gratefully received.

Change to Wednesday programme @ Afrobeats

Please note slight change to programme for this Wednesday @ Afrobeats, unfortunately Massimo is unable to teach the mens shine class but will be joining us for the social dancing later. Alessio has kindly stepped in at short notice to teach the mens shines class (many thanks Alessio). Remember there are animations (line ups) too in the social and our 3 Italian ballerini (Massimo, Alessio & Lorenzo) will be joining us on the dance floor in the social !  Hope you can make it.

Bachata Fusion Classes – Tuesday Deaf Hub classes

The Bachata Fusion class on Tuesday at the Deaf Hub is now closed to new beginners. Improvers welcome to attend from week 4, Feb 5th onwards for 4 weeks. The class is very big which is great, but please come early from 6pm to register and pay unless you have a pass already, so we can try to start on time at 6.15pm, thanks.

Latin Quarter presents Cuban Fever latin party 
Friday 23th November 7.30- 12 pm at the Black Watch Club
20 Arthurstone Terrace, Dundee DD4 6RS

Tickets are £7 (£5 students with card) from classes or pay on the door. 
Come and feel the spirit of Cuba with Yamil Cuedo Ferrera, former Cuban dancer from Ballet Folklorico Cutumba dance company, Santiago de Cuba.  Evening starts at 7.30pm with a warm up taster Casino de Rueda (Cuban wheel dance), Yamil will be performing later in the night and get us all up for fun line ups.
Please pass the word.  Anyone welcome, no partner necessary.
All money raised goes to the Azul wasi project in Peru.
The night will have a Cuban feel but we’ll be playing a mix of music (cross body and Cuban salsa, bachata with a few Son etc).

Cuban dance Masterclasses with Yamil Cuedo Ferrera

@ The Black Watch Club, 20 Arthurstone Terrace, Dundee DD4 6RS.

Come and feel the spirit of Cuba with the energetic Yamil Cuedo Ferrera, former Cuban dancer from Ballet Folklorico Cutumba dance company, Santiago de Cuba.

Classes will be 50 minutes long each, see pass prices below, available from LQ Deaf Hub tuesday dance classes this tuesday only or at the 23rd November Cuban fever event.
On saturday 24th, the venue will be open from 11.45am, please come 10 minutes before classes start to register if possible especially if still need to pay for classes. The first 3 classes are for dancers with improver level (or above) Cuban salsa dance experience ( these 3 classes are not for beginners).
The last class at 3pm, Rumba Guaguanco, will be suitable for beginners and dancers with some cuban or cross body salsa experience.

Please note :
Bring your own soft drinks to hydrate for the classes, as no bar. No alcohol allowed in the room. Also for Rumba class, ladies bring a scarf and men a hankerchief if possible.

12 noon- Cuban Improvers Partnerwork class
1pm – Cuban Intermediate Partnerwork class
2pm – Cuban Rueda de Casino (Improvers/ intermediate level)
3pm – Rumba Guaguanco – class open to anyone including beginners. I’ll bring some rumba skirts, but don’t have enough for everyone. We will learn the basic Rumba steps, a short routine then see how you can add this into Salsa dancing.
Advance class prices : 1 class – £8, 2 classes- £14, 3 classes -£18, All 4 – £20

On day prices : 
Rumba Guaguanco class – £6
Cuban partner work or Rueda masterclasses – 1 class £10, 2 classes £18, 3 classes £23, all 4 – £25.
