Bachata Fusion Classes – Tuesday Deaf Hub classes
24 01 2019The Bachata Fusion class on Tuesday at the Deaf Hub is now closed to new beginners. Improvers welcome to attend from week 4, Feb 5th onwards for 4 weeks. The class is very big which is great, but please come early from 6pm to register and pay unless you have a pass already, so we can try to start on time at 6.15pm, thanks.

Next Tuesday is last week for total beginners to join the Bachata Fusion dance classes-6.15pm@The Deaf Hub starting 15th January, 2019. Come 5-10 mins early to register.
Beginners level Bachata dance basics- Weeks 1 to 3 (15th to 29th Jan)

Week 4 from 5th February for 4 weeks – Improvers level.
Prices : £5 a class or 7 week block for £25 (6 week pass £21.50 from week 2).
Improver pass for those joining in week 4 – £15 for 4 week pass, or £5 a class.
Money raised for the Azul Wasi project in Peru.
If you are already dance at Bachata improver level or above then join us in week 4. At present the plan is to run the classes until the end of February, not sure if they will continue until Easter or another beginners salsa class will start in March.
Bachata is another popular latin dance often danced alongside Salsa at socials. It originates from Dominican republic. There are many different styles now.

WORKSHOPS with YAMIL today
24 11 2018Hi folks, Hope you enjoyed a little taste of Cuban spirit last night with Yamil, was a fun night, thanks to everyone who came. Hoping some of you can support the workshops TODAY- 12-3pm for folks with improver or above level Cuban salsa experience (see below). There is also a Cuban rumba class at 3pm for anyone, £6, no dance experience necessary for this class. For Rumba class, if possible ladies bring a scarf and men a hankerchief. Don’t miss this chance for classes with Yamil from Cuba, it’s not very often we get such a great opportunity locally folks.
Please come 10 mins before class start time to register. Venue not open until 11.45am though, they are at the The Blackwatch club, 20 Arthurstone terrace, Dundee also no bar so bring own snacks & soft drinks, no alcohol allowed.

3pm – Rumba Guaguanco – class open to anyone including beginners. I’ll bring some rumba skirts, but don’t have enough for everyone. We will learn the basic Rumba steps, a short routine then see how you can add this into Salsa dancing.
Advance class prices : 1 class – £8, 2 classes- £14, 3 classes -£18, All 4 – £20
On day prices :

Cuban partner work or Rueda masterclasses – 1 class £10, 2 classes £18, 3 classes £23, all 4 – £25.

Latin Quarter CUBAN FEVER party & dance workshops

Latin Quarter presents Cuban Fever latin party
Friday 23th November 7.30- 12 pm at the Black Watch Club
20 Arthurstone Terrace, Dundee DD4 6RS
Tickets are £7 (£5 students with card) from classes or pay on the door.
Come and feel the spirit of Cuba with Yamil Cuedo Ferrera, former Cuban dancer from Ballet Folklorico Cutumba dance company, Santiago de Cuba. Evening starts at 7.30pm with a warm up taster Casino de Rueda (Cuban wheel dance), Yamil will be performing later in the night and get us all up for fun line ups.

The night will have a Cuban feel but we’ll be playing a mix of music (cross body and Cuban salsa, bachata with a few Son etc).
