Doors open at 7.30pm with a free beginners salsa class at 7.45pm, pay on the door, £5 or £4 for students. For new folks to LQ, a SPICE night is a fun Latin music social night with a twist from the Spice countries ! There are belly dancing & bollywood dance performances with an opportunity to have a go yourselves if you want ! (& a Rueda performance TBC). There’s a raffle too, all proceeds go to the Azul Wasi project for street children as usual. Please start passing the word. Raffle donations are very welcome. Spice up your life at Latin Quarter, come along to support the Azul Wasi street childrens project in Peru and see African drumming with the fantastic AFRODISIAC playing West African rhythms, including the occasional bit of singing and dancing too. We also have Flamenco dancing with fabulous FLAMENCO JUEVES and try a Salsa beginners class ( 8.15pm). Also Latin music for dancing inbetween performances. SPICE NIGHT – FRI 1st April

Latin Quarter Spice night on Fri 1st April, 8pm till 12.30am at The Chamber Suite, Panmure St, Dundee DD1 1ED a night of latin dancing ( much like a normal Latin Quarter night but with the added SPICE of performances from the Spice countries). So far we have the brilliant AFRODISIAC and others TBC. The AFRODISIAC group are from all over Angus and have been together for over 10 years, they play West African rhythms, including the occasional bit of singing and dancing too.There’s a free salsa class at 8.15pm and a raffle too. Tickets on the door, £5/ £4 ( stu). Money raised goes to the Azul Wasi project in Peru for Street children. Email sarahbrox@gmail.com for more details. NEW Beginners Salsa classes starting this week

BEGINNERS Charity Salsa classes – January 2011, Still places in all classes just come along on the 18th or the 27th Jan, or email first with any queries.
2 NEW beginners salsa classes, 2 different styles, Entry to new beginners classes only in first 2 weeks or starting to join. Please come 10 min early for first class to register. See classses page on website for directions .
1) Chamber Suite classes in NEW YEAR.
Classes start Tue 18th Jan at Chamber Suite, Panmure St, Dundee ( behind McManus galleries).
NEW Beginners 10 week class Cuban style salsa 6.45-7.30pm (this will lead onto learning the Cuban wheel dance, Rueda).
Improvers/intermediate cross body salsa class 7.30-8.15pm
Cuban Rueda Improvers/ Intermed class 8.15-9.15pm
Beginners Cuban class course £25 for 10 week block ( pay for block at 1st or 2nd Class), or £4 per class paid weekly. Other 2 classes £4 per class, or multi- class deal £15 for 5 classes if paid in advance per class course.
2) NEW Beginners salsa classes ( cross body style) starting on Thursday Jan 27th at MONO, Dundee University Union building, downstairs, 6-7pm. 10 week block £30 ( stu), £32 otherwise. Entry in first 2 weeks only, please come 10 min early for the first class to register & pay for the block. Email sarahbrox@gmail.com for more details or to reserve a place if possible.

REMEMBER
Latin Quarter with Cuban dancer/performer Yamil Cuedo Ferrera from Ballet folklorico Cutumba dance company, Santiago de Cuba. The usual latin/salsa social charity dance with Cuban dance performances from Yamil. Come and sample a taste of the real Cuba with Yamil’s energetic dance.
Venue : The Mark Henderson Centre, Ann Street, Dundee DD3 7TH. 8-12pm. Soft drinks bar only ( please purchase soft drinks at venue, proceeds also going to charity), bring your own alcohol. Pay on the door, £6/£5 ( students). Proceeds go to the Azul Wasi street kids project near Cusco, Peru via Peace Child International, Uk charity. Please pass word & help advertise.
