Places left in 2 NEW beginners classes, last week to join week beginning 27th Sept.  Please pass the word.

Tuesdays :  6.30-7.15pm Beginners cross body style salsa, £4 @ The Chamber Suite,.  2 other classes on this night too for dancers with salsa experience already & music for dancing after classes 9.15 till 10ish, Free after 9.15, anyone welcome.  

Thursdays : 6-7pm Beginners CB style salsa, 12 week block, last week to join for 11weeks now, £37 or £32 (stu) for remainder of block.   MONO, Dundee university union building.

LATIN SPICE Regular Sunday event

Latin Spice Regular Sunday afternoon latin music party organised by Will in Soul Nightclub, St Andrews St, Dundee starting this Sunday, 5pm to 7pm.  The best of Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Latin Pop. Reggaeton and the odd Cha Cha! Free.  Manned, licensed bar in operation.  Classes from 3 till 5pm with fee, email Will at wildbill20052006@aol.com  for  more details.

Apologies, no classes next Tue, but back to usual on the 28th Sept.  NEW beginners salsa class ( cross body style) still has places (6.30pm), last week to join on 28th.  Other classes running as usual on 28th with music for dancing after classes.

LATIN QUARTER with YAMIL Cuedo Ferrera- Fri 22nd October

Come and feel the spirit of Cuba with Yamil Cuedo Ferrera, Cuban dancer from the Ballet Folklorico Cutumba dance company, Santiago de Cuba.  Night kicks off with a free beginners salsa class at 9pm, followed by latin music for dancing, Cuban dance performance and line ups.

Friday 22nd Oct, @ The Chamber Suite, Panmure St, Dundee DD1 1ED

£5/£4 (stu), pay on the door.  Money raised for Azul Wasi street boys project in Peru, see charities page for more details.

Help required for charity event – Floods in Pakistan

The Student International society have asked the salsa crowd to help them out with a big fundraising night for the floods in Pakistan. They would like  to do a short performance followed by something on the model of Nick Child’s Salsa Ceilidh. It is on August the 27th, perrforming isn’t required, but the more bodies the better it will look, and the easier to do any Salsa Ceilidh acitivity.  Contact Will at wildbill20052006@aol.com,if you can help.

Charity Salsa classes at Dundee Uni

Beginners Salsa classes start in Mono, Dundee Uni union on Thursday  Sept 23rd,  6- 7 pm  for a 12 week block,  email sarahbrox@gmail.com to reserve spaces.  All money raised goes to support the Azul Wasi project in Peru for street children.  Payment for classes on first night for block £35 ( stu), £40 (non stu).  Please pass the word & print off a poster & pop up somewhere if you can.

Salsa dancing over Summer

Salsa classes at The Chamber Suite are off now until September, keep checking website for dates when we start back 

Will has organised the use of Braes basement function room ( on Perth Rd)for some dancing , no classes but a chance to practise & socialise over the Summer, anyone welcome, free entry.  Will be Tuesdays from 7:30pm to 10:30pm, starting on the 20th July, with the exception of one Wednesday instead of Tue on the 28th.  I think the time will also be used for Priyanka’s ‘Dance your PhD’ project, so anyone interested in helping out with that should pop along too!
