Bachata workshop at Tayside Deaf Hub for one week only ( instead of Cross body improver/intermed class) suitable for all levels Tues 5th June, 7.15pm -8pm, £3.  Money goes to Azul Wasi as usual. Will be quick run through basic step then nice sequence for those who know some bachata already too, including some fancy footwork.   Bachata is a very nice latin dance from Dominican republic.

NEW beginners cross body class at 6.30pm, 8 week block starts Tues 5th June too, £30 for 8 week block.  Usual Rueda class follows Bachata workshop at 8.05pm, no special workshop next week & usual finish time at 9.30pm.

Beginners Cross body Salsa class starting 5th June

NEW Tuesdays Beginners cross body style salsa class ( 8 week block) starts Tue June 5th, 6.30-7.15pm at Tayside Deaf Hub, Old Mill, 23 Brown St, Dundee DD1 5EF.  Come along spice up your life and learn the latin rhythms for summer !  8 week block £30, all money goes to Azul Wasi, a small home for 14 former street children in Peru.  Can join first 2 weeks only.  This will be the last set of new beginners classes until September. BIG Thanks – LQ band night 27th April

MANY THANKS from Latin Quarter to everyone who supported the band night last Friday at The Invercarse. The night raised £741 (after all costs for band, PA, advertising etc) for the Azul Wasi project.  A big thanks to everyone that helped during the night, donated raffle prizes and took part in the Rueda demo.

Latin Quarter Charity Live Latin Band night – Fri 27th April

A week to go  !! until the LATIN QUARTER CHARITY BAND NIGHT with the groovy live band SON al SON @ The Invercarse Hotel, 371 Perth Rd, Dundee, DD2 1PG on Fri 27th April.  8.00pm till 1am,with free Salsa beginners class at 8.15pm.  Tickets £12 (£10 students) on door or £2 DISCOUNT in advance from sarah at classes or via sarahbrox@gmail.com also from Grouchos in Dundee ( cash only). There’s a raffle on the night, Peru goods for sale and a Rueda dance demo. Tables can be reserved via sarahbrox@gmail.com for 10 to 12 people for prepaid ticket holders.

The band Son al Son was formed in 2008. Its line-up is made up of musicians from Cuba and Scotland.  Son al Son play son, a style of music made popular in 1920’s Havana and more recently in the film “Buena Vista Social Club”. To this day, songs like Chan Chan, El Cuarto Del Tula and Dos Gardenias are played in cafes and bars across Cuba, Son al Son have recreated this sound to bring a little bit of Havana to you.  Son al Son play a lively set of traditional Cuban songs guaranteed to get your feet tapping and out of your seat in no time, Gozar! Enjoy!.

CONTINUING Beginners salsa class on Tuesdays @ Tayside Deaf Hub

Next block of 5 weeks continuing beginners classes starts on 24th April 6.30-7.15pm at the Tayside Deaf Hub, Old Mill, 23, Brown St.  £4 per class or £15 for 5 week block pass.  This class is suitable for the cross body  salsa students who previously attended the Tuesday beg CB salsa class & the thursday mono CB salsa classes before Easter.  Any new students wishing to join the class should be able to do cross body moves with confidence and the cross body inside turn move.
