16 10 2012A date for your diaries, SPICE night on Sat 24th Nov at Chamber East, Dundee, if you’re new to LQ salsa classes or events a Spice night is held about twice a year, it’s a Latin dance social with a twist, performances or join ins with dance or music from the spice countries. Past performers have been Bollywood, Belly dancing, Flamenco, African drumming, salsa demos etc. Performers & timings for 24th to be confirmed, further details to follow.

Tickets for the weekend workshops are £45, day passes available nearer time, individual classes – £8 but classes will be busy and priority will be given to those with full weekend workshop Passes. Some teachers – Etian Antuche Almeida of Havana Rakatan up from London for his teaching debut in Scotland, and Rafael del Busto – twice world salsa champion coming over to the UK to teach in Scotland for the first time in years. Classes run from 11-4pm both days at the 212 club (74 Buchanan St., Glasgow. G13HA) centre of Glasgow. On Sunday night – evening of shows, animation, competition and dancing at Classic Grand (18 Jamaica street, G1 4QD Glasgow) with HALLOWEEN SUNDAY SALSA FIESTA & BUFFET. Kicking off at 6.30pm, music from Tumbao and special guest DJ Flecha – from Havana’s Casa de la Musica. Javier Franco Leonard will be taking you through your paces with some reggaeton and there’ll be performances from Etian and The Descarga Dance Co.
