Help required for charity event – Floods in Pakistan
19 08 2010The Student International society have asked the salsa crowd to help them out with a big fundraising night for the floods in Pakistan. They would like to do a short performance followed by something on the model of Nick Child’s Salsa Ceilidh. It is on August the 27th, perrforming isn’t required, but the more bodies the better it will look, and the easier to do any Salsa Ceilidh acitivity. Charity Salsa classes at Dundee Uni

All money raised goes to support the Azul Wasi project in Peru for street children. Payment for classes on first night for block £35 ( stu), £40 (non stu). Salsa dancing over Summer

Will has organised the use of Braes basement function room ( on Perth Rd)for some dancing , no classes but a chance to practise & socialise over the Summer, anyone welcome, free entry. Will be Tuesdays from 7:30pm to 10:30pm, starting on the 20th July, with the exception of one Wednesday instead of Tue on the 28th. I think the time will also be used for Priyanka’s ‘Dance your PhD’ project, so anyone interested in helping out with that should pop along too!

DUNDEE University students – HELP
26 06 2010The rules have changed for holding classes for charity at Mono in Dundee uni, now need to become affilated to the uni or pay for the room, would like to try the first option, this would entail the following :
1) formation of a student led comittee of 4 people, but the members need to be elected at an AGM meeting.
2) a petition of 20 Dundee uni students to provide names to the student council for affilation
3) One representative from the committee needs to attend a meeting to affilate the group, this takes about 5 mins where you tell the committee the benefits of the salsa classes & why it should be affilated, of course we would prepare a case beforehand of what to say etc.
CAN anyone HELP ??? you need to be a Dundee uni student though, please pass email to others who might be able to help for any of the above, if you have been at any classes anywhere & are a student you could be involved.

Thanks & Help
14 06 2010Many thanks to everyone who came ( & helped with the music interludes by singing !) to Latin Quarter last Friday at Club Romano, we raised £245 for the Azul Wasi project, so thanks for the raffle prizes & to the Indian dancers which we all enjoyed watching. Next LQ will be after Summer in Sept or October.
Can anyone help ? I need to apply to be an affilated member of Dundee Uni this year before I can hold classes at DUSA, so can anyone help me with this ? I need a few volunteers who are Dundee Uni students currently who have been to my classes at Dusa before who can say that they are worth while & enjoyable etc etc and can also come with me to a meeting with the committee at some point.
