Latin Quarter charity latin social night – Fri 23rd March

Latin Quarter latin social night – Friday 23rd March @ Tayside Deaf Hub,The Old Mill, 23, Brown St, Dundee DD1 5EF. If you are fairly new to Salsa or latin dancing come along to meet fellow salseros ! Anyone welcome. All money raised goes to the Azul Wasi project in Peru for former street children. Evening will start with a Bachata workshop – all levels, suitable for total beginners & also something for those with Bachata experience. Will also be a salsa taster class too for any newcomers. Pay on the door. £8/£7 (students) entry to LQ and workshop, or £5/£4 (stu) after 9pm, on till 12pm. Will be raffle on eve, donations welcome. Please pass the word & pop a poster up if you can.

Cuban band Sierra Maestra in Edinburgh- Wed 7th March
4 03 2012Just one week to go until Cuban band Sierra Maestra astound us with their talent, live at The Jam House in Edinburgh! Sierra Maestra have been stars of Cuban music ever since the late 1970s and return to the UK this March after playing a key part in the recent worldwide boom in Cuban traditional music. Like vintage rum, they just get better and better!

Bannockburn Salsa night next Friday -17th Feb
11 02 2012Bannockburn Salsa night – Regular monthly social night with Filipe & Anne & DJ Lorna (3rd fris of the month). Definitely worth travelling for folks, a few folks are planning to go through from Dundee.

Notice re Salsa classes & new students
1 02 2012Tues beginners classes at Tayside Deaf Hub are now full & closed to new entrants unless already registered or by prior arrangement via sarahbrox@gmail.com. However there are still SPACES left in the new beginners salsa class in MONO this Thursday 6-7pm. Come 10 min early to pay & register. The BAR will also be open on Tuesdays please buy drinks, anyone wanting to buy drinks & socialise between classes/or before/after please use area in foyer so as not to disturb classes, many thanks. Music cds will also be available from next week to practise.
All new Tuesday salsa class students please come to pay/register each week at 6.20pm as class will start on time from next tuesday at 6.30pm. Remember purchasing a multi class pass saves money & also time.

Latin Quarter salsa classes have MOVED to Tayside Deaf Hub, The Old Mill, 23, Brown St, Dundee DD1 5EF, from tue 24th Jan.
LAST week (31 Jan)to join NEW Beginners cross body salsa class @ 6.30pm-9 week block £27 or £4 per class. Other classes : 7.15pm Improvers/ Intermediate cross body salsa class. 8.05pm Improvers/ Intermediate Cuban Rueda class. Classes £4 per class or £20 for 6 week pass.
