There will be a 3 to 5 week Cross body Salsa to Cuban Rueda conversion class starting on 20th May, tuesdays at 8.20pm at the deaf hub. For anyone with a a good grasp of cross body salsa skills or for those who know abit of Cuban salsa or rueda and want to brush up on skills and learn the Cuban rueda wheel dance to go on to join the existing rueda class. The usual rueda class is also running as normal at 8.20pm for existing students. £6 a class for conversion class or £30 for a 6 week pass, you can use any 6 weeks, doesn’t need to be consecutive weeks.

Big thanks to everyone who came along on Friday to the Latin Quarter social. We raised £363 from the event for the Azul Wasi home in peru which is great. Thank you to the Black watch Club and staff, to Ann and Alan for doing the door, and to Angie and Sheila for doing the raffle tickets. Also big thanks Alessio for the amination and to people who came from afar too and to the happy elves who helped tidy up at the end of the night !

With a Cuban Rueda Class at 7.30pm, this is a Cuban salsa class where people dance in a circle and change partners, good fun. The class will be suitable for total beginners. A new Rueda class starts soon in May so this will give you a taster. There is also a free Taster Bachata Class , 8.15-8.45pm for anyone who is coming along to the social. Bring along friends & they can learn the basic Bachata steps to kick start the evening. Followed by dancing to salsa and bachata music with a touch of kizomba & merengue from 8.45pm till midnight.
This venue has a large dance floor, please pass the word. Come in the front door & the function room is upstairs. NEW Latin Quarter Beginners Salsa class starting Tuesday 6th May, 6.15-7.15pm, at The Deaf Hub, Old Mill, 23, Brown St, Dundee. DD1 5EF, can join first 2 weeks only. Other LQ classes also re start on the 6th May.
All money raised for Azul Wasi project for former street children in Peru.
Please note : there is no car parking outside the deaf hub (may get a parking ticket), best to park on Brown street.
Casual clothes are fine and best to wear shoes with a slippy sole , like a leather sole but fit securely on feet though. Although most regular shoes are fine.
The other 2 higher level classes will start back on 6th May aswell, after 2 weeks holiday.

BIG thanks to everyone who came last night to the Black watch Club, we raised £249 for Azul Wasi, children’s home in peru. Thanks to the club and bar staff, Ursa for doing the door, Tania for all her help and support with the classes and throughout the evening, for prize donations and to everyone who travelled from afar. Hoping to have the next Latin Quarter social in may, date to be confirmed.
