10 week block pass £35 or £5 per class weekly. CASH ONLY. Can join first 2 weeks only. Beginners class dancers please come 10 to 15 min early to register & pay.

Classes are progressive, anyone welcome, no partner necessary. There will be options in classes for those who do not wish to change partners and for those who do hopefully but we will have to assess partner situation each session if you do not come with one.

Many thanks to everyone who came to the LQ Blackwatch Club event last night. We raised £325 for the children at the Azul Wasi project in Peru, which is great. Big thanks to the Black Watch Club for hosting the event, to the bar staff, Fiona for doing the door, Tania, Shane & Galina for helping out and to everyone who came especially those from further afield. Also a special thank you to everyone who donated the raffle prizes, including the 1st prize, Sunny’s Babas sauce hamper kit. Found this article about it, sounds famous ! The next LQ social will be on Tuesday 16th May at The Deaf Hub and then Friday 2nd June at The Black Watch club.

Latin Quarter Social with Merengue & Salsa workshops

7.15pm – Merengue workshop – all levels £5 (suitable for beginners)
8 pm – Beginners Salsa Taster – Free
8.30pm to midnight – latin music for dancing (Salsa, bachata & a little merengue/kizomba) – Social only £5
Combo ticket, Social & Merengue class £8

Children can attend social, but unfortunately not the class. Entry for children, £3.

Pay on the door, cash only. Please bring along friends & family & help raise money for charity while having fun ! All money raised goes to the Azul Wasi home, near Cusco for former street children in Peru.

Just to prewarn next 2 Latin Quarter social dates at the Black watch club are on friday 21st April and Fri 2nd June. More details to follow soon.

Try to support the local opportunities to socialise and practise what learn in classes at Casas on fortnightly thursdays, Sunny’s restaurant on fridays and Jimmy’s saturday monthly nights.

It’s been pre arranged with Nicci & Alessio that the Friday Sunny’s dance socials won’t run when there are Latin Quarter friday socials.

Will be no latin quarter Deaf Hub classes for 2 weeks, classes restart on 11th April, with a 3 week beginners bachata class at 6.15pm, anyone welcome. £12 for block or £5 per class, please come 10 min early to register & pay. Please pass the info on.

Planning to start a new salsa beginners class on the 9th May hopefully at 6.15pm. More details to follow.

Also from 11th April for 5 weeks the 7.20pm improvers /intermed CB salsa class will move to 8.20pm and the Rueda class will not be running for these 5 weeks.

A very big thanks to everyone who came last night to The Blackwatch club to the  Latin Quarter social to raise money for Azul Wasi, and thanks again to Alessio for teaching the 2 bachata classes.

We raised £507 in total for the Azul Wasi home near Cusco which is great.  In addition there was a kind donation of £30.

Thanks again to Ann for doing the door and Tania for helping out on the evening. Also big thanks to everyone who came from afar  to support the event ! Was nice to see you all after the covid break.

Also thanks to everyone who donated raffle prizes.  A special thank you to Kimberley from Harlow Nails for donating the first prize of a nail voucher and to Sunny’s for the meal voucher.  Also thanks again to the Blackwatch club for hosting the evening for charity.

Alessio has been dancing bachata for 23 years, he went to a dance school in Italy at 14 to learn, he started teaching in 2012 in Italy, but in 2016 he auditioned for a dance crew in Gran Canaria and moved there where he was performing live to 1000 people every night with tribute acts, he now he lives and teaches dance here.    

7.15pm – Improvers Bachata workshop £5 (not suitable for total beginners)
