Beginners class dancers please come 10 to 15 min early to register & pay. 

Classes are progressive, anyone welcome, no partner necessary.  There will be options in classes for those who do not wish to change partners and for those who do hopefully but we will have to assess partner situation each session if you do not come with one.

Please note : there is no car parking outside the deaf hub (may get a parking ticket), best to park on Brown street.

NOTE : Other 2 classes below are higher level classes and only open to those with relevant dance experience, please contact teacher in advance to check level to join if new to Latin quarter classes.

Improvers / intermediate level Cross body salsa 7.20 – 8.15pm 

Cuban rueda salsa class  8.20 – 9.15pm. Only open to those with at least improver level rueda dance experience.

Many thanks to everyone who braced the cold weather and came along to the workshops and Christmas Social at the Deaf Hub last night. Big thanks to Hamish for doing the mens styling class and to everyone who donated some lovely raffle prizes and thanks to the helpers, Tania, Emma, Ann and Susan who helped make the evening run smoothly and allowed me to have a few dances !

We raised £214.50 in total (after room hire deducted) for the Azul Wasi home in Peru.

So we are now over the £120, 000 mark of money raised for Azul Wasi over the years, so a big thank you to everyone who continues to support classes and social events.

Planning to re-start classes around mid January, details will follow in next week or so.

Christmas Charity Latin Quarter Social – feel free to come in festive attire !

7pm -7.45pm Ladies & mens salsa styling workshop

7.45 -8.15pm – Christmas Cuban Rueda workshop

8.15-10.30pm- Social latin dancing with Christmas party games & a raffle.

Anyone is welcome to come the 2 workshops above and to the social after these including those with no dance experience . Please pass the word amongst family and friends.

Styling workshop only – £4, rueda class only – £3, Social £3, combo ticket for all 3 is £7.

It’s bring your own drinks again, won’t be a bar, hopefully will be the soft drinks & snack trolley.

Money raised is for the Azul Wasi home in Peru. So far since end of 2002 Latin Quarter classes and socials have raised £119, 067 for Azul Wasi and £6165 for other charities. So thank you everyone for supporting the events and classes.

There will be a raffle on the 13th, donations always gratefully appreciated.
(The usual beginners salsa class is 6.15-7pm on 13th, no new entrants)

Latin Quarter social – Tuesday 8th November, 8.15-10.15pm at the Deaf Hub, Old Mill, 23, Brown St, Dundee, DD1 5EF.

Bring your own drinks including alcoholic ones, there should be a few snacks and soft drinks on sale like last time.

Merengue dance workshop, 7.20 to 8.15pm.

Anyone is welcome to come to the workshop and social. It’s an opportunity to meet other dancers and practice moves from classes. Dance workshop only – £4, Social £3, Combo Workshop & social £5.

There will be a raffle too, prizes are always very welcome if you have any donations.

All money raised goes to the Azul Wasi project in Peru ( except room hire fees).

We will continue with a few covid precautions this term such as :

-Bring correct amount of cash please for classes to reduce money handling.

-Hand sanitizer will be available to use regularly.

-Main hall door & emergency exit will be open for ventilation so bring extra layer incase cold.

– One way system, leaving class by fire escape door.
