BIG thanks to everyone who came last night to the Latin Quarter Charity Social for the Azul Wasi home in Peru at the dundee social club. It was lovely to see so many new faces and a few folks I haven’t seen in a few years too !
A really big thank you to everyone who made the effort to come from Aberdeen, perthshire, Edinburgh area and elsewhere it made for a great atmosphere in the room with a lovely dance family. A few pics to follow once sorted them, if anyone else got some nice ones can you send to me please, I like to try to check with any prominent people on them first before posting online.
We raised £493 (after outgoings) for the charity which is fantastic, BIG thanks to hamish for doing the men’s styling class, to Ann for doing the door again, to shane and deirdre for helping do raffle / door , a really big thanks to tania who withputvher ongoing support the deaf hub classes and the socials wouldnt run as smoothy, she always helps with the set up/down for the events and thanks to a few of you who stayed on to help tidy up at the end. Thanks to the dundee social club for a great venue. We had a lovely crowd of musicians present from Aberdeen which I didnt realise the extent of until the end of the night when they played during tidy up time ! thanks to Sebastian for playing the bongos during the eve and friends for coming down, was lovely to hear.
Thanks for all the raffle prize donations too, and especially to Phil for the sol y sombra voucher and to Bill for the sea kayaking voucher.
Hope everyone can make the last LQ social of 2023 at the Deaf Hub, on 12th December for Christmas festivities, will be music for dancing, a few Christmas party games, mince pies etc, details to follow shortly.
